A touch of green changes the scene.
In environmental psychology, being surrounded by nature is proven to reduce stress, elevate mood and engagement. We can bring that sense of calm and renewal to your backyard, office courtyard, or shared amenity spaces. A simple change of scenery that includes greenery creates healthier, happier habitats for everyone.
The glow-up doesn’t just change how a space looks; it changes how people feel when they are in it. Plants soften grey infrastructure and invite people to connect, linger and recharge in urban environments where access to nature is often limited. Whether it’s seasonal planters or a full landscape takeover, adding green is a case for elevating a space and the experience of those using it.
Key elements to consider:
Design and aesthetic: are you interested in seasonal planters or grounds installation?
Site conditions: climate, soil and light conditions will influence plant selections and project scope.
Vision: do you have a design or mood board in mind? We would be happy to bring it to life or make recommendations.
Maintenance plan: are you equipped to manage the grounds maintenance, or can our expert crews take care of this for you?
Enhances curb appeal: elevates first impressions of any property, signalling care and quality.
Increases property value: well-maintained grounds rate as a top factor in desirability for buyers and tenants.
Builds communal spaces: landscape design can encourage people to gather, linger and enjoy, making it ideal for multi-residential, community and commercial properties.
Adds visual balance: adding greenery softens the hardscape of concrete, brick and steel.
Mood booster: access to natural elements is proven to reduce stress; even small planters create a restorative atmosphere.
How much should I budget?
We can work with budgets of all sizes, so if you know what you can allocate, we will estimate based on your needs.
Do my planters need to be changed depending on the season?
Yes. If you would like to have your planters blooming in all seasons we can design, plant and maintain them quarterly. Most plants and flowers are season specific, like tulips and snowdrops in the spring, chrysanthemums in the fall, and winterberries because they all adapt, or don’t, to certain climates. We also consider that not all plants like to co-exist in the same pot, so when their watering and light sensitivities are different, we won’t plant them together.
With grounds, we typically design using plants that bloom at different times based on the light and heat available in the season. This provides staggered blasts of colours and extends your enjoyment.
Do you provide the plants, or do I need to buy them, and you plant them?
We take care of everything. We have long standing partnerships with nurseries that supply our products, and as horticulturists they ensure the plants we receive have been well tended to. GINKGO also has an in-house growing room where we cut, seed and propagate a range of varietals.
