Moss art is created from preserved moss and when hung in the right spot requires very little maintenance. No watering. No sunlight. No pests. In the right conditions with stable humidity, no direct sunlight and minimal touching it can last upwards of 10 years.
Moss art can soften acoustics and bring a natural focal point to any room in your home, office or commercial space. It’s a simple and sustainable way to make any environment feel more personalized and welcoming. Custom design. Made by hand. Right here in Canada.
Key elements to consider:
Environment: how much foot traffic does the interior area get, and how much direct sunlight would the moss art be exposed to? Too much of either can affect how long it lasts.
Design Vision: a natural, earthy palette or vibrant coloured moss? Will it be a natural mosaic or a pictorial concept?
Scale: what size canvas are we creating?
Low to no maintenance: no watering or pruning means virtually zero upkeep.
Long-lasting: when placed in stable indoor conditions moss art can maintain its colour and texture for a decade.
Instant biophilic impact: all the benefits of green without the structural or mechanical requirements associated with a custom living wall.
Improves air quality and acoustics: absorbs air pollutants and acts as a sound barrier reducing noise levels in shared spaces.
Space saver: brings a natural element into a grey structure where floor or wall space may be minimal.
Do I need to water or spritz my moss art?
No. They are created using preserved moss, unlike a plant it is no longer a living organism and doesn’t need to be watered.
How intricate can the design be?
If you can dream it, we can create it. If you are considering moss art in your retail or office space, we can create brand specific works of art that set you apart and make your customers and your employees feel good.
How do I maintain it?
It is essentially maintenance free, so you are free to look at it in all its natural glory. It will eventually collect some dust. Do not use a water solvent to clean instead you can use a soft brush to gently sweep it away.
Do I hang it in a lite area?
Moss naturally grows in low light and when it is preserved direct sunlight will change or fade its colour. To preserve the original design and make it last longer, indirect light is best. It’s the same principle as hanging paintings in diffused light in homes and galleries.
Does moss art smell?
At first you may notice a slightly woody scent emitting from the canvas. The moss will adjust to its new climate in about a month’s time and lose that earthy scent.
